When in high school, I came to Etown a decent amount of the time to party and what not, as I had many friends that went to school here. That is probably why I came, because I had such a great time whenever I came to visit and thought the people were great. Upon coming here, I found that its only the right place for some people. I am not one of them. To me the campus is like a bubble removed from the world. The people are too immature for me, and there is nothing else to do on the weekends but party. Theres no public transportation into the cities, not that there is that much to do in Lancaster or Harrisburg, and you can only go to Hershey Park so many times. As a result, the weekends are filled with going to one of a few houses, getting drunk and high, and doing the same thing over again the next night. I enjoy it as much as the next person but it gets old after awhile. Nobody ever sees any of the real world. The administration treats students like children, especially the security dept. Security 'officers' use illegal means to intimidate and infringe on the rights of students, such as holding their ears up to doors to hear whats going on, and staring through the windows while girls are trying to get changed. Its similar to the corrupt administration that uses school funding for the president's weekly parties. Because Etown is in the middle of nowhere, its hard to find any internships in the area. If you feel like trying to take summer credits, good luck getting them to transfer over. Registration and Records is one of the more pathetic departments. I'm in the process of trying to transfer, and I didn't get in to the school i want because they never got my transcript, at least not in time, despite the fact that I requested the transcript over a month in advance. Overall, if you liked the atmosphere in high school, you're going to love it at Etown. If you want the real world, you'll hate it here.
