ESU is a very good school if you are considering becoming an education major or if you're interested in sports. Most of the students are athletic and pretty laid back. They are not the most intellectually stimuating student body, and they can definitly be lazy. Also, not many students activly participate in class discussions, but professors appreciate it when they do. Most of the professors are helpful, and they are there to help you out or talk about class when you need to. If you have a learning disability, the LD department is very helpful and the LD advisors are great. The campus is small, so it's easy to get to know people, though it's difficult unless you live on campus. Parking sucks usually and the dorms are so-so. Food isn't bad at all, and there are activities and clubs, you just have to look for them. The town has some resturaunts and bars and Thursday night is a big party night, but the town nightlife isn't all that great but it's suburban and it's in the pocono mountains so if you enjoy the outdoors (hiking, canoeing, camping, etc.) then you would probably enjoy the location.
Education Quality: A+, Social Life: C-

The Theatre Department is a mediocre program at best. Would transfer to a non state school if my parents would allow.

this place is better than a lot of naysayers think. but maybe my major has something to do with it. the faculty are great. they seem to know more than the university world news and world reports rating would let you think.
