If you're an international student DO NOT COME TO EDINBORO. pple are snobby and unfriendly, mostly fake politeness and have their own cliques n all. Snow is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!SERIOUSLY! HORRIBLE! N THIS IS FOR LIKE 3/4 OF THE YEAR, PLEASE, GO AWAY, ITS CHEAP, BUT YOU'LL REGRET IT!

Ok, so this was 27 years ago, but I thought that for the money Edinboro was a great experience and education. As a first year teacher in northern Virginia (good luck getting a teaching job in PA) I felt much more prepared than other new teachers coming from schools such as Penn State, Virginia Tech, WVU, UVA, etc. Edinboro has/had an awesome education program.

I read some reviews and wonder why you people even applied to Edinboro - weren't some of the negatives obvious before? The weather? - do some research! You've gotta love snow if you're going to go to Edinboro. Social life?..... college is a time for you to not only get an education, but also see if you can make it on your own - academically, financially (more for some than others), and socially. There is a lot to do within the campus/town if you look around. It's not Pittsburgh or even Buffalo for that matter - but you had to know this before you came.

I came to Edinboro b/c of the cheap tuition and the snow! People who complain that it snows all the time did not pay attention in orientation, as I'm sure they stated this several times! Another point about the environment is that it is in the middle of nowhere; which means no sky scrapers for you city kids, don't complain about this if you come here you should have toured it before you came.

The proffs. are nice and for the most part very helpful in the more challanging classes. In the core classes the proffs are just there b/c they have to be and so are you. The bio department itself is falling apart, but they are claiming that there will be renovations sometime in the future (after I'm gone I presume). There are also other renovations going on around campus like the new residence halls (which I heard were in fact sinking...but I dunno) they look nice though! The older halls like Earp and Dearborn are really great, but steer clear of Towers if you can!

As for the food....AVOID IT!!! It's overpriced and potentially dangerous to your health. The best part about Edinboro is the snow, there's a SMALL ski place down the street and two bigger ones about 45-60 min away and the school does trips to all of them which are fairly cheap if not free.
