Grove City College is a myth, no there is really such a place, but the reputation it has is a myth. There is a myth that it provides a great education and fosters Christian growth. Now, people THINK that this happens, but in reality, the college has not met my expectations. In fact, it is falling far below. The classes here are hard, not challenging. They are hard in a way that professors try to fail students by giving unfair tests and saying that "At Grove City College we expect more of our students" when in actuality I am not learning anything by going here. The classes aren't challenging. They do not cause you to learn the material, they are just hard. This college teaches you to cram for the test. . . not learn. People here are total snobs. They have these attitude complexes where they think they are such wonderful Christians and so much better than everyone else . . . being completely judgemental of others, something that the Bible they so love to quote from tells them not to do but they convienantly ignore that part. Don't even let me get started on the stupidity of the rules. Sure the no-alcohol rule is good and needed at colleges in this day and age, and its good that they have certain set times for male-female dorm intervisitation, but they go about it in a completely demeaning way, ex. the door must be open (like we are animals or something and will start having sex as soon as we are in a room with a door closed. give me a break, I came here because I am NOT into that kind of behavoir). I came to this college because I upheld the same Christian principles that this college claims to uphold, but they are totally unrealistic and ridiculous about it. They don't allow you to make your own decisions, they FORCE their decisions on you, it feels like a prison. Don't expect to grow as a person by coming here. People here act like I did when I was in junior high school. I hate this place. I never met so many snobs and immature people in my life. Dont believe what they tell you about this college, because it is a myth. There are some good professors and students, but for the most part, this place is a junior high school with ridiculously hard classes.

I love Grove City and I'm very thankful that this is where I am. It's a hard hard school, expecially within the sciences. I highly reccommend it tho, there's no where else I'd rather be.

If you plan to come here, understand that you'll be entering into a Christian atmosphere with a very intense work load. Most students and faculty are quite friendly and helpful with any problems you have; expect to need some help now and then. Also, be prepared for some policies you might not agree are worth the trouble. Overall however, the education is excellent, the social life is casual and friendly, the liberal requirements are rewarding, the college's values and intentions are solid, and when insanity sets in, Pittsburgh is only an hour away and there are on-campus concerts frequently.
