 | Bright | Out of the 3 colleges and universities I have been enrolled at, Gannon University is the first to treat me as a person. They have worked with me to make sure I am on the right path. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: B | | | |

| | Not so bright | I would definitely rethink if you decide to go to this school for nursing. I have been here for a while. There are nice professors here but most in the nursing department are just rude and disrespectful. There are few professors here that have a reputation. They may appears nice to you but once you are in there for couple years they treat you however they want. I would like you to make note that think carefully. On occasion, Gannon Freshman nursing classes begin out with around 120 people. In the end there are only 31 or so people remaining. Most people transfer out of the program because the way certain professors treat them. In my case this prgoram. is very disrespectful toward student. Given there are nice people here, you will sooner or later come across professors who will just make ur life a living nightmare. It is a huge power struggle. A few professors in here will treat you how they please and graded very unfairly. Most of the time you need to pretend to be nice to them and not speak your mind. The director of the program and the dean are not helpful. They usually cover things up when something happen. Students have no right in this nursing program and will not be respected. From my experiences here, some of the nursing professor in this program will degrade other nursing school around and saying they are horrible. Some will give an example of how horrible Edinboro nursing program really is. In my opinion, Gannon has an OK nursing program not an outstanding. Usually if any only 3% of graduation class are male. If you are entering this field be prepare for some discrimination in this program. You will face racism and discrimination. Also there will only be one male professor in the program. Some professors here enjoy to fail students so they can drop class over and over again so school can make money. Gannon is ok but it is strictly catholic. I would not recommend anyone to go here unless they can fit in the environment. This place does not like change. Nursing instructors here will treat you however they want. They do not offer help. The higher up authority in this program WOULD NOT listen to you. If you decide to speak out they WILL DO whatever they can to fail you. They will not give clear guidelines. Some professors in this school will skip classes and spend time for their own. I do not know about other program but overall I hate the nursing program here. People are rude and disrespectful given that there are some very nice people here. If anything I think Gannon nursing program does not have the word Respect. From my personal experiences this program is about discrimination and racism. Only 0-5% of students in this program are from other nationalities or african American. Also they will weed you out no matter what. Your chances of graduating is 25% so I will strongly suggest you to pick a school. It is all about how hard you are willing to learn. If you think about it this nursing school only have 30ish people graduate each year. The reason Gannon board test score is high because they weed people to keep their rate up. Also compare to other cheaper nursing program, they usually have way more than 30 people graduating or passed the test. The way I see it is that how well you want to do in college and how much you are willing to learn. This school if anything is full of political stuff. Professors will either pretend or be nasty and threatened you. And do not stand up for yourself because all these professors stick together. They will twisted whatever you said around. The director and the dean will not help you. IF anything major occurs considering go pass the dean. If anything these people are condescending. It makes me wonder sometimes if they are also racist. I hope my experiences provide some of you to see the truth about this nursing program. It is all good and fun at first but from midway to the end. If anything I learn from this school.........it is that some teachers do not do work and lazy.....I learn that I can learn all by myself. My final point is this program is RUDE, disrespectful, immoral professors. You will have class with one of them. But do not just take my word. Do research, ask around, perhaps it is the place for you, but it is never a place for me. | Perceived Campus Safety: C+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | | I spent one year at Gannon before I transferred and leaving was the best decision I ever made. FIRST AND FOREMOST - this university LIES about their crime statistics. Gannon is in a dangerous area...while I was there, we had many shootings and robberies, two bombs found near the courthouse, and several 'suspicious persons' harassing students. I never felt safe here; I kept pepper spray with me all the time and campus police doesn't do a lot to help with safety. Everything else about Gannon sucks...food, extracurriculars, etc. If you aren't an athlete or involved in Greek life, you have nothing to do. Not a lot of extra activities are offered and everyone is too terrified to go out at night because you'll get followed, harassed, etc. Staff are self-absorbed and more interested in themselves than helping students. They act like you're a burden to them when YOUR $35k is going towards their salary.I'm so glad I left...Now I go to a school with only 1500 students and there are STILL more things to do, on campus and off, than in the city. | Surrounding City: B+, Useful Schoolwork: F | | | |
