I was a PolySci major and I've got to say that some of these comments are utterly stupid. Its a small town so of course it limits some of your social options but by the same token there is a lot to do if you go out and find it. Join a club, rush Greek life, or get a job on campus. I personally joined housing and through that I got involved with clubs organizations and events I was always busy on the weekends and always had something to do in the evenings. Yes the food is not great but unless you attend a private school were you pay much more for a meal plan school food its going to suck at every school. Yes there is a bit of a cow smell but its rural PA so what do you expect. freshman classes are easy but they progress in difficulty so buy the time you're ready to graduate you are writing 30 and 40 page papers. its a great school and was some of the best times of my life

I am a first semester freshman here at Kutztown and I'm going to give you the honest truth about this University. Before I do that though I'd like to comment upon something... if you are looking at this site...PLEASE take what people say seriously. While I know, that might sound very strange now that I am here and I look at other people's response about the University I seem to agree with many of them. Had I know this earlier I most likely would have chosen a different university.

Well Kutztown....It's alright. I'm being honest when I say it's "OK" I think there are a lot better school's out there but it's alright. I had a very bad experience here at Kutztown so that is one of the main reasons why I myself am transfering from this University. I do feel that a lot of students do not end up finishing 4 full years at Kutztown. Many of my friend's have decided to to transfer next semester or are waiting until the fall of 2008 to transfer. You should know that it is a VERY EASY school to get into so if you are one of those people who did not do very well in high school and are looking to go to a 4 year school this is the place for you TRUST ME when I say this! I have a good friend who applied here....he couldn't get into any college and when he found out I got accepted to kutztown and when I talked about it he decided to apply he had a 2.9 GPA with a 1250 out of 2400 on his SATS.

To continue about Kutztown...let me tell you one thing that my friend's and I all have noticed the campus tours are VERY hyped up!! They talk about how great the school is and how friendly people are ...YES people are VERY friendly that is.....if you can find them on the weekend!! This is a school where EVERYONE goes home!! I am from out of state and there have been times when I have been 1 of 3 girls on my floor and one time the week I thankfully WENT HOME only 1 girl from my floor stayed. It is so dead on the weekends and if you live far from home like I do it's difficult to go home a lot. I go home maybe once a month!

The campus is alright. I love the AF they have VERY good bagles in the morning. Other then that though the food is not very good. I've had a lot better....my instant mac. and cheese for instance (ha)! If you plan on living on campus i strongly suggest you bring lots of snacks for your dorm i kid you NOT when i tell you the food is not that good. Espically the breafast upstairs at the south dining hall.

The campus itself is alright. In my opinion it's a little small. I am looking for a bigger school. It's ok thogh. The libary is very nice.

Academically speaking I have had the most amazing professors this semester espically my one professor. I feel I have learned a lot throughout this semester regarding classes and my gpa should be decent (hopefully)! They really offer you help if you need it. One of my friend's who is a junior tutors people in Art History. They really do try to go out of there way for students I will give them that and I have not had ANY bad professors or professor who was not willing to help me in any way they could. So as far as academics are going I give this school an A+.

It's entirely up to you if you choose to lisiten to what I have written or not. I still strongly suggest you take a look at the school. You yourself my love the country setting in the middle of nowhere. I am from the city and I can tell that the city is where I belong. This school is not for everyone but i will admit there are many who do love it here and want to come back..I hope that helped!

It bothers me to see all of the negative reviews on here. Some student's just don't have good experiences at KU but that can happen at any college!! I'll try to point out the good and bad aspects of KU.

Kutztown University is idealistic. Yes there are farm lands and Amish people but there is also Main Street! Main Street is the place to be. On either side of it, there is food, groceries, apartments for students, stores, or tattoo shops. Its a college town. We also have Sheetz and a Walmart 15 minutes in either direction. There is a flea market with Amish cooking which is delicious as well as BK and Arby's and etc. I see KU as idealistic because there is a beautiful nature side as well as a college town side.

KU was once perceived as a party school and only the 'dumb' kids went there. However, KU has raised the SAT scores needed to get in. The faculty is much better and the colleges themselves have improved immensly. KU is still considered a party school but hey, what college isn't?

The work is not easy! College isn't supposed to be anyway. Some majors are harder then others at KU as well.

The food has gone downhill, except the deserts! Other than that, the campus is beautiful, the dorms have improved, it is VERY SAFE, and friendly. Hopefully this helps.
