Not so bright
The program I was in was a joke! Professors were not helpful at all. Projects seemed to have nothing to do with my major. Just absolutely ridiculous college. Every time there seemed to be a problem, I felt like I was being passed around from person to person when I called in with a problem. I would not recommend this college to anyone. Look else for an education!

Mount Aloysius is a joke, my high school gave me a better education. Mount Aloysius is probably comparable or worse than high school actually. The dorms are horrible, St. Joe's is filthy ! There is a total of 7 whole buildings on campus 4 which are dorms & one is not only a dorm but also administrative building & has classrooms? Ihmensen dorm is destroyed there is garbage literally thrown on the ground of the dorm building, broken locks to your dorm, & the shower heads are made for someone who is 4 foot. Curfew on weekdays is 12 & on weekends it's 2, really aren't we adults? & security has nothing better to do but put there ear up to the door to make sure there is not someone of the other sex in your dorm, even if your just hanging out. Getting caught after curfew results in 5 hours community service, also cleaning the school. When you go to the library good luck getting a computer; they are either occupied or broken. There is nothing to do on campus, ever. & in the surrounding area everything closes at 10, including the 5 restaurants. All in all, this place is a joke.

This school is one of the poorest academic institutions I have ever heard of, especially the American Sign Language program. The ASL program is understaffed, and the two teachers collude to discriminate against students they don't like. Confidential student feedback is identified and the comments used on the "anonymous" forms are held against the student. There is back-stabbing and gossip. Perhaps this would be more easy to overlook if the program actually provided a good education. It does not, at least in the ASL program. You will find it hard to get an internship because Mount students have a reputation of not being prepared. The program teaches you to pass the NIC certification, but does not teach you to actually interpret well. Grades are simply fabricated out of thin air -- no rubrics, no assignments handed back, just a letter on your transcript. Faculty have also been known to breach ethical and confidentiality codes, and the administration is in general unsympathetic to student concerns, siding with the faculty rather than advocating for the students.

Cresson is a tiny town. There's not much to do here at all. But that's not the main reason you shouldn't attend.

Maintenance is, as others have said, notoriously bad. The magnetic door locks for getting into the dorms break every other week. Many areas of campus show signs of disrepair. This isn't to say that there aren't some beautiful areas on campus.

Parking is plentiful, but resident parking can be a long way from the dorms. The parking policies are very particular and you will be ticketed if you violate them. Despite their emphasis on Mercy values, this school fails to provide a consistent or high-quality education. It is utterly broken, from the cold and inaccessible administration to the arrogant and manipulative faculty.
