I suggest not coming to this school if you are not from around the area. Everyone here goes to the same high schools and lives in Scranton. There is absolutely nothing to do on the weekends and no drinking AT ALL. People get in trouble for drinking all the time and I had more freedom when I was under the watch of my parents. It is small, not many people are all that bright or creative, and I found the faculty to be helpful but not very experienced. I absolutely hated my time here at MU and am so excited to transfer next fall. Unless you are local, like Jesus and service and staying in your dorm all day and night DO NOT COME HERE!!! SERIOUSLY!!

Just bad. Teachers teach to the lowest common denominator, so if you have half a brain you'll be bored. The "fun" SGA activities are designed for children -- "paint a mug day!" "stuff a bear workshop!". No one attends sports events. Computer labs & classroom computers are a joke, as they aren't working half the time. You pay to print, but the printers don't work half the time either. Library is full of books from the 1960s, but nothing new. Overpriced books in the bookstore, but they don't post the book lists for most classes until the semester starts (isn't that illegal now?) so you're stuck buying at the bookstore. Rude employees rather talk down to you instead of helping you, because that way you'll leave and they can go on a smoke break. Food is so-so; cafeteria is all processed foods, and one of the little cafeterias is all fried stuff. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on a school that actually cares about you.

I am currently a freshman at Marywood and so far I love this school. I am the type that likes to be busy, so I got in involved with things right from the start. I made lots of good friends. There are all sorts of activities, something for everyone one. Advice: If you plan to be a resident student anywhere, you need to get in involved.

I would not call the students here Nerds, as the previous review did. There are serious students here, but they all find time to have fun. I do agree if you feel that drinking needs to be a big part of your college experience then do not come here. There is absolutely no drinking on campus and when they say it is quiet time...they mean it. You should research the college before you apply, as Marywood is known as a cold sober school, this should not be a surprise. Honestly, I am happy that I do not to have to put up with loud drunks when I am trying to study or sleep?many of my friends in other colleges deal with that crap all the time. There are tons of off campus parties, so if drinking is important to you?it is available. There is a small hand full of boring people that do not know how to have a good time without chugging down a few shots and these kids are looking to go out drinking every night. They have no interest and no hobbies and are just looking for cheap sex, but they are the minority and I guess they see the rest of us as nerds.
