Quite Bright
I thought Moore would be worth the tuition money. I was told there would be many ways I could cover this tuition. The financial aid offered no suggestions other than personal loans (for which I needed a cosigner) and the typical FAFSA. The only outside source scholarships they offered were for highschool seniors. The financial aid office also has a poor attitude towards students. (I'm an older, non-traditional returning student.) My problem is mostly with the faculty of this school. Their attitudes toward the students are mean spirited and close minded. When you ask for help from a teacher, they "don't know how" (that is a quote from a liberal arts teacher). The faculty, rather than help you, point you to the next person who points you to another person. None of whom are capable of making a decision or giving you an answer concerning a multitude of things- teachers, grades, schedule, financial aid. Anything. This is my problem with this school. Also- the english classes are a joke. The reading list for freshman english is Romeo and Juliet, Dorian Gray, and Petrarch. I read those in high school! And they are all male writers we read, male painters we are taught about, and male teachers in the school. For an all female school.

I do not support this institution any longer as it has shown me the brutality of politics involved in any administrative decision. the faculty chairs have virtually all been removed (due to the iron-clad fists of Happy Fernandez), and even the faculty is socially torn. No one supports anyone in this school. Quite frankly, after putting up with a miserable teacher who made each day increasingly difficult with his slanders and personal remarks for an entire year, only to see him fired due to his raving alcoholism while on campus...I am suprised this institution is still being praised. There is no student voice, no sense of community, and most importantly, there is no place for a student to hold forum on matters that should be brought to the attention of the president, Happy Fernandez. I suggest you stay away.

As a whole Moore is a good school. Because it is small they're able to give more attention to each student. Their resources are good BECAUSE they listen to the needs of the students which is very good. I think this school is pretty strict. It's an all-women's college for crying out loud so expect it. Not a party school so don't expect that. Security is good. Coming from a large high school I thought I would like a smaller school which I did in the beginning but after a while it felt too small with too much estrogen and I mean TOO MUCH ESTROGEN. Most of the teachers at this school are great. The fashion design department...? that's another story. My advice...if there isn't a man sitting in the department chair's seat then do not come here for fashion. BIG MISTAKE.
