I transferred to Messiah after spending a few years at a local community college here in Connecticut. Great school, but don't expect to walk through. They make us work, but it's almost all right on target for the class.

I love the school. The people are amazing and the faculty excellent (for the most part). Like at any place you'll have the people who are die hard for their views and beliefs, but in the case of Messiah College you will find that both the professors and students are fairly open minded. The campus (especially in the spring) is gorgeous, the only downfall is the fact that there is a sewage plant near by that will stink up the campus a bit at times. As it is a Christian college, you will find a wide range of people at the school. You will have the die-hard as i would call "psycho-Christians" as well as the flaming liberals, and everything in between. Although technically the school is a "dry campus" there are always exceptions to the rules, but if you want to avoid alcohol it is VERY easy. Although at times you can get very Messiah-phobic at times as it is surrounded by corn fields and the closest mall/anything to do, is about 15 min away, I do love the school and can't wait to go back. Although given the chance, and depending where I might strongly consider changing schools.

An excellent place to go for students looking to be educated within their faith tradition by open-minded and high-quality professors. In my experience professors really take an interest in students, their learning and achievement. There is a great link between learning and service and working to pursue social justice and a peaceful society, an emphasis that I think is lacking at a lot of Christian colleges in the U.S. Students are not always as open-minded as the faculty, but it is a great place to learn and live. If students took better advantage of Harrisburg, a high-quality, growing small city, they would find the surrounding area more interesting.

There are tons of things to get involved in if you want to, between activities on the floor, rec sports, clubs, or the National Champion Girls and Guys soccer teams. Some of the classes will really challenge what you thought you believed before coming to college, and you feel like a much brighter and more knowledgeable person when you leave. I think many of the classes get you to be open minded about life in general. Make no mistake though, this is a Christian College, and if you are not interested in living your faith, then you might not have a great time here.
