 | Quite Bright | | While I mostly wish somebody had shaken me when I announced that I was going to a 4 year school for art, I really regret not having assessed my situation about 2 years into the program. There are a handful of wonderful instructors there that are passionate and talented. There are also instructors there that are just working toward their next paycheck. College for an artist outside of the design field is kind of ridiculous and unnecessary. No one cares if you have a degree. My message: Attending this college will cost you about $18,000/yr (or more), leaving you broke, facing a very competitive field with mediocre skills at best, and having to pay off your debt over the next decade or two. Whatever your choice, good luck to you! | Starting Job: Sales Associate, Preparedness: F, Reputation: F | | |

| | Quite Bright | I feel like I've wasted the last two years of my life. Foundation year was okay but now that I'm in my major, I feel like I learned nothing from it. In my chosen major, It's almost like you have to do exactly what one specific professor wants you to do, or you won't pass your classes. I thought art was about expressing yourself. There are a few good teachers that are truly there to help you [Jeremy Waak, Scott McMahon, William Mammarella]. But a lot of the professors are just jerks that don't adequately teach you their knowledge [Chris Welch, Anna Norton,]. Also, I recommend getting your liberal arts classes out of the way before going here. The liberal arts department is atrocious. Bad things aside, the other students are very friendly, and the activities that we have after school are getting better. The city is an awesome place to live, and they give you free food a few times a year. | Individual Value: A+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | If you breath, they will basically accept you. Aside from that fact I was expecting this college to be up to some of the standards that more notable art schools require. Oh was I wrong. Foundation year was a complete joke, most professors were only a few years older than their students with little to no experience. The school was recently remodeled. though from the inside you would never know it. There are ZERO extra-curricular activities... unless you consider Anime Club extra-curricular. As far ad the studio classes go, they don't transfer to any other schools, so you need to retake all foundation courses no matter what school you transfer to. The school is not all it's cracked up to be, they basically have you inside the building from 8 am to 5 pm (one hour break at 1) doing art... which by all means is great if you absolutely love art and are 100% sure that's what you want to do all day, literally, otherwise it's tedious and unnecessary. The one positive is the student body. I've met some of the most talented, open-minded, and all around friendly people. And the school doesn't offer housing, big draw back. My suggestion... go to another school... don't waste 17,000 dollars for nothing. | Collaboration/Competitive: A-, Education Quality: F | | | |
