This is quite possibly the most miserable school I have ever encountered. The classes are great but the students are extremely introverted. If you play a sport or like to drink be prepared to be shunned by the majority of students on campus (because the socially active are an extreme minority). The parties are pathetic and usually involved 10 or so guys, beirut, and maybe two horrible looking girls. I am transferring out of this place because it really is unbearable.

Super Brilliant
Understand that, unless you select your courses solely on the basis of difficulty level, and even if you do, the academics are very hard. Other elite schools are difficult, but quite a few intermediate level, gateway courses at Swarthmore are more challenging than comparable courses seem to be anywhere else! It is not uncommon for material taught in an intermediate level course to reach what would be the graduate school level at the University of Pennsylvania.

Quite Bright
Swat will make you jump, Swat will work you to the bone, Swat will make you regret having chosen a small, serious liberal arts college over a grade-inflated Ivy League university. But Swat will also make you fall in love (maybe all over again) with your chosen field. It'll make you swoon with sheer love for your communtiy and your school. It'll remind you againa nd again that you've earned everything you've got in your education.
