For anyone wanting to stay in West PA and not work for a big firm then SRU is the place for you. But if want something more then go to a university in the city. If I had to do it all over again I would've stayed back at Philadelphia or at least go to a school around there. This is an education and sports management university. Not a bad place but not ideal for accounting majors let alone any business major. Make sure you do well because employers won't look here first to find graduates (learned that the hard way). If you are from E. PA just stay there: it will be better for your career.

I went here as post-bac student (meaning, I already had a college degree) and was there specifically taking science classes to get into med school. Anyhow, this school is a real joke compared to my (far superior) original undergrad alma mater. I mean, I don't know how these kids who graduate from there even hold there head up high. This school is cheap and that is what really drew me to taking my med school pre-reqs there--you can't beat $6,000/year. Most of the people in my classes had to have graduated near the bottom of their high school classes--they were all pretty much flunking out of chem 1, bio 1, etc. Needless to say, I was very impressed with my fellow student body and I have left and entered a pre-med post-bac program at a real university--with real students who actually have IQ's. I hated going there everyday--I felt like I was surrounded by ignorance 24/7 and I really was. This school is a joke and the price totally reflects it--so does the student body.

There is nothing to do in the town of slippery rock at night except to go to parties or bars, and then even when you are 21 expect to get a drinking citation. I believe that having fun is a necessary part of life, SRU and the town of slippery rock do not. If you go to slippery rock plan on bringing a car, everywhere fun is a drive away. I know a lot of people at slippery rock and they are all great people, its finding something to do that is the problem.
