I came to Temple University Out of state from a small rural town and I wanted to be in the city. All the schools in Boston were too expensive so I decided on Philadelphia. I loved Temple my Freshman year and had a good time my sophomore year as well. However at the end of my sophomore year temple decided to crack down on partying leaving the campus a ghost town with nothing for students to do. If you come here to study and enjoy your college experience this is not the college for you. On weekends even if you're at a small apartment party the cops will raid it and kick everyone out. Also The Univeristy has recently kicked all upperclassman out of housing. They built new apartment complexes for them but they reserved half of the spaces for freshman. Now being and out of state student and going into my senior year I still cannot find housing and the only housing I can find is $600+ a month which I cant afford, and when I asked temple for help they said "too bad". In the end Temple would be a great University, however they do not care about their students which is a big factor for a lot of people. They just want your money and don't care about the livelihood and happiness of their students. My advice, Temple may present itself amazing but in the end they don't care about their students and if you go here you will probably find yourself transfering after freshman year. Save yourself the trouble and do not go here.

transfer students are treated like the red-headed stepchildren of Temple by the system. It is my experience as well as my roomates and others in my building that it is very hard to meet people as transfers.

I would have to say that, despite a strong faculty, the administration and red tape here really are enough to break your spirits. The campus is not socially cohesive - at over 80% commuter, there is a prevailing "get in, get out, get my work done" feel about the place, rather than a typical college feel.
