 | Quite Bright | This school may be very good for some majors. From what I've seen, the theater and dance departments are excellent. I'm a film major, however, and I greatly regret my time at UArts. Film school in itself is problematic thing - there's not much they can teach you that you don't already know, and if you don't already know it, there's not much to be done for you. But UArts has greatly disappointed me. In over a year of being there, I haven't learned a single thing. I often knew how to work a camera or use editing software better than my professors did. I hoped that sophomore year would be more challenging, but we've actually moved BACKWARDS. I have a current cinematography class at the moment - 6 hours long, and we're not even allowed to move the camera or cut. Our projects have to be one shot, without movement. And the majority of class is spent watching a movie anyway. In fact, that's all I seem to be doing these days - 3 out of the 5 classes I have, we spend the majority of the time watching movies. In my Intro to Screenwriting class, we've discussed screenwriting briefly, and spent the rest of the time watching clips from Iron Man, Spiderman, and the entirety of School of Rock. Not only have we seen these films before, but I could have done that at home. For considerably less money, at that. I'm sure UArts is great for some people. But in all honesty, the film program is shockingly poor. I'm transferring out as soon as possible. | Surrounding City: B+, Useful Schoolwork: F | | | |

| | | I left uarts after my first sem. of my second year. let me just say that in h.s. i was offered to go there on weekends to examine their ways and see if they were the future college for me. I did this thru my junior and senior years of h.s. taking a train ride for 1 hour to get to and another to get home. I was 100% sure that uarts was the college for me. Well now, I am at another college with a different major. Why you may ask? Well there are too many reasons to type here. I am just going to say that uarts destroyed many things about me. I am now very happy after almost a year away from that place. It took alot of work from me and my loving family to get me back to me. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | | |

| | Quite Bright | Very over-rated - none of the great courses on the web existed and when you are there no-one is vert interested in what you do - administration is dreadful and unhelpful. Nothing like I expected it to be. You are expected to do everything for yourself so what is the point of being there? | Surrounding City: B+, Faculty Accessibility: F | | | |
