WCU is a great school. Are there better colleges out there? Yes. However, you get a quality education at West Chester without paying a huge amount.

The campus is beautiful and the surrounding town is great. The residence halls are average, but I hear the new ones that are opening soon are really great.

Most professors are willing to get to know their students and all are knowledgeable. The math department leaves a little to be desired. It seems that many of the math professors are experts in their areas of study, but are lacking in a good background of teaching (as an education major, this was particularly disappointing to me). There are many, many fabulous resources from the Career Development Center to the folks in Student Affairs (I may be a bit biased because I worked in both of those offices during my time there as an undergrad and in my masters program).

I am getting ready to graduate from WCU this May and let me tell you, I have loved this place for the past four years and I am going to miss it. If you like to party then there is always something going on on the weekends as long as you know the right people. Just watch out because the West Chester Police are always looking to bust kids for underage drinking. But everything from homecoming to greek week, to the town is just great. Also, this place is the best place to be when you turn 21. There are 12 bars in a 4 block radius and they are a ten minute walk from the heart of the campus.

I have really enjoyed it here, the poli sci department was not as challenging as I thought it would be but hey what are you gonna do? The classes are usually pretty small if you are into that, I would say around 40 people per class unless you get a big one like psychology which has 150. Good luck with the nursing program if you want to do that because that is the hardest one to get into. I know a lot of people that had to come in undeclared and wait for spots to open up.If you like to party and you are outgoing and will go out and meet new people then come to West Chester, it's a great school and I have had a ton of fun the past four years that I have been here. Oh yeah if you are an incoming freshmen get a job as soon as you can, they are pretty hard to get here and it's a good way to meet people already established here if you want to find parties and meet new people.

The admissions selectivity scares me. They let in psychos. I know one that goes here.
