Johnson & Wales is the Perfect University for any Chef at Heart that is Willing to make Sacrifices to Succeed. I Highly Recommend the Miami or Denver Campus, Rhode Island is too crowded. Being able to put Wales on your resume is a plus, everyone in the culinary field knows the name. Its an expensive choice but its worth it.

DO NOT COME HERE!! Unless of course you would like to live the lives of the cast of the Jersey Shore.

Academics - Academics are a joke. All of my classes are easier than the classes at my public high school. One of my classes, I am not even required to attend, EVER! THAT IS NOT COLLEGE LEVEL! I am a Sports / Entertainment / Event Mgt. major, and I will admit that I have learned a bit more about the field, but 90% of the classes here are a complete joke. Also, plan on taking 7:10's. The process for choosing classes is not at all satisfactory and of course JWU has the majority of their classes available first thing in the morning. Although the class work is very easy, you will hear from so many of the students around you that the assignment was too hard, or that the didn't have enough time to complete it.. that is complete b.s. Those kids, who just so happen to make up the majority of all the classes, are a complete representation of our low-to-no standards of acceptance. If you are intelligent at all, or did well at all in high school, JWU is not for you.. believe me, I was average to above average in my high school, and at JWU i feel like I am in special Ed classes.

Social Life - JOKE. I cannot stress enough that i feel like I am living in the trash pit which is the Jersey Shore. Girls are orange, dark haired, and skanky, and guys are "juice heads" and sport their disgusting blowed out hair. All they do is go to the bars, clubs, and frats EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK. If you don't currently have this mentality, and are easily swayed, you will become this way in no time here at JWU. For example, when I met my room mate this summer, she was blonde, normal looking, very girly, liked the same simple music as me, was a virgin, and rarely drink. One month in, my room mate is orange, has black hair, wears skanky clothes, has her nose pierced, listens to techno music, goes to the club EVERY NIGHT, and has a different boy of the week.. actually make that night. This school changes people for the worse. Frats and Sororities - who by the way have houses that aren't even recognized by the school - are abundant and annoying as hell. It seems as if they have no moral values and don't care at all about their futures. They are a poor yet true reflection of the students at this university, and pretty much can be considered abominations at this school. As for getting involved at the JWU, forget about it. I try as hard as I can (joining 4 clubs and holding a steady job, and achieving good grades) to be successfully involved with my campus and it is virtually impossible. Yes we have like 50 clubs, but if you are not greek, a minority, or religious, than they do not apply to you. Once you do find a club that you like, they are so unorganized and completely self-involved - nothing good ever gets accomplished. JWU tries to sell to future students that the student life here is incredible but that is a LIE. To sum it up, student life for the average JWU student is clubs and drinking and fucking, if you are one of those skanky ass girls I mentioned before.. DO NOT COME HERE.

Campus - SHIT SHOW. Providence is a pit, if you are an average poor college student, then you will not enjoy yourself. Since the campus does nothing to entertain you, you will need money to do anything. As for dorm life, it sucks. The rules at McNulty Hall are unbelievable. Want to experience a typical fun on-campus time? Do not come here. Dorm parties are non existent, and if you try to come back intoxicated you will be sent to the hospitals. People are not friendly and that whole "open door policy" that many other colleges dorms follow, does not happen. Food is disgusting.. yup, at a culinary school, we have gross food. That is not to say that sometimes there is good options, but the majority of it is shit - that is if you can find a time to go to the dining halls since the times are never convenient. Speaking of times, the library is only open until midnight when most college libraries are open until 2 or 3 am. This is probably just a result of how stupid these JWU fuckers are. As for having an environmentally - friendly campus? HAHAHAHAHA, no. We do not reduce, reuse, or recycle.. all of the papers are due as actual papers, JWU does nothing for the community or the earth, they are so irresponsible for not educating people are the issues of the world, and in no means are they sending out conscious consumers.

To wrap it up, this school is a COMPLETE waste of money. The student, campus, and overall policies of the school are just a JOKE. On top of that, the majority of the classes can not even be transferred out. DO NOT COME HERE! DO NOT COME HERE! DO NOT COME HERE!
