As a freshman class of 2015, I expected more out of this school. As a minority I understood that this school was not diverse, but during the tours I went on I did not understand to what extent this school is not diverse. The school is trying dont get me wrong but Im so tired of defending myself and trying to prove that I belong her. Im so tired of being the only minority. Dont get me started on the whole DWC. The school during tours forgets to tell you how hard and intense the Civ program is. Lets not forget how during my year of Civ they never once mention a black person that has helped the Catholic religion. Partials at this school sucks but at the same time you can bend the rules... trust me I lived in McVinney & I had guys come through & stay the night. :) But the fact that guys dorms dont have paritals sucks and isnt fair. The political science classes are either hard.. or really easy.. So it kind of messes with you. This school is also very very closed minded and isnt open to others at all, despite what they say. Im transferring so Im happy that Im leaving. If you want school where everyone looks the same, come here. If you want a school where you can be yourself go someone where else.

If you do not like drinking out of your mind, then don't go here. Granted, Drinking is huge at every college, but it is really central to "Party College" (PC). I am very happy to be leaving this place, partly because of the hammered student body, but also the curriculum.

Don't get me wrong, the Curriculum is outstanding, Professors are great, and the quality of the education is pretty good. Civ is not that bad, but it really depends on the "team." Some are easy, and some treat freshman like juniors. Very positive experience with academics. However, the curriculum is very Western, and for some with an interest in foreign affairs, that is not very good. That is my main problem, and I am getting out to focus on a career.

It is also humorous to have a professor bash the administration and claim how much better other places are. I took his advice, and are getting out.

As for the students, while the campus is mostly conservative, there are several "liberal" cliques. Some can be nice, and others can be odd. It is sad that there is racism here, and nasty jokes. It is supposed to be a religious school, but some don't get that. Some students are just annoying. When people get drunk, stupid things happen, and fines within the Male dorms are very common. There are some nice people, and that's all I will say about the student body. Did I mention they think drinking is one of the things they love?

Athletics. Providence is Division 1. No football, no baseball. There is Hockey, Basketball, Track, Lacrosse, Tennis, and some others. Hockey is fun, and I enjoyed it. Basketball and me do not mesh well, as I don't like it. To have a coach paid 1 million dollars to lose in the Big East is annoying. Not to mention some people "Storming the Court" for just a "ranked team." Embarrassing.

College is what you make of it. Unfortunately, this is not the place for me. Fortunately, I can get out of here, and applying to more prestigious and well REPUTED schools like Boston College, Holy Cross, and Fordham.

Now some people who love Providence so much, (No clue why) will probably complain because nothing possibly can go wrong at their beloved little College. Newsflash, some things about Providence are not that great, and some people enjoy different things!

It's a average College in my eyes, but the education is worth the price. The other parts, not so much!

PC was my first choice when I was applying to colleges and I couldn't be happier to have spent four years there.

When I first started, I wasn't the typical PC student (never went out, never drank) and I was completely fine and happy. I found awesome friends who I still have to this day. However, by senior year, I started going out and had the best year. The social scene is absolutely great, especially if you like to go out and have a fun time Thursday to Saturday night. The people are very nice, very approachable.
