Salve has a gorgeous campus and it is very safe day and night. It gets cold and windy in the winter and it doesn't snow that much. Most if not all of the professors I have met are very helpful and know what they are teaching. It is very easy to get the trolly into Newport and go to CVS, Stop & Shop, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Express, and other stores. Salve has your typical sports teams; football, baseball, basketball, field hockey, etc., but it is not a sports school at all. I am a huge sports fan and it kills me that Salve isn't into sports. If you're looking for a competitive sports school with student enthusiasm, Salve is not your kind of school. As for food, breakfast is really good; pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal. The lunch and dinner is about a B-, some students don't like it some go there everyday. At first I didn't like it but I don't know if they're putting out better food or what but I go to the cafeteria everyday now. The job placement after Salve is wonderful. Salve helps you get an internship your senior year, and a very high percent of students get a job or already have a job lined up right after graduating. There is not a lot to do on campus and there are not a lot of parties off campus. However when there are parties, they are your typical "everyone get wasted", keg-stand parties. There are a lot of weed smokers, so if you are you'll make friends quickly. Salve is kind of like a high school in a sense because there are only about 1,800 undergrads, a large percentage of the students are very clicky, and you have to be on a sports team or be friends with someone on a sports team to really know a lot of people. But Salve is very safe, has a wonderful surrounding city, the professors are great, but it's not an enthusiastic sports school. I might transfer only if I find a school that's more into sports, has the same type of professors and has the same kind of job placement after graduating.

Bright
The school promotes its scenery and environment. The academics are not worth the price of tuition. Many students here, the mmajority of them are not career oriented or focused. The majority of students recieve financial aid so the "rich" stereotype is false. The school si extremly catholic. They fail to mention all the courses and assignments you have to do that the majority of your school work comes from are in the religion classes. The food on campus is horrible. There are however excellent professors and academic advisors. The only thing Salve has to offer is the "Mansion living" idea. However its what the stduents does inside the dorms that counts, not what the school looks like. If you are not going to school for teaching or nursing, this isn't a great place to be. The students also tend to be close minded and racist. International Students are the outcasts. God is a notion on everyones mind.

I enjoy everything about Salve, I find my professors to be quite engaging and supportive, The only quarrel i have it the food, it could use some work. All in all however it is a great learning enviroment. In fact this year my average class size is 9.
