Super Brilliant
I have been a student here for merely two years. In that time frame, I've made my fair share of friends. I was a bit disappointed with the low level of sincerity here. Everyone appears friendly and welcoming to lure you in, and the campus is breath-taking, so how can you turn down this university after finding out the tuition rate in comparison to the financial aide they offer you? The thing is, it's a total scam. Granted, you're here for your education, but go elsewhere for a dignified degree. Save yourself from having to put up with a stressful transferring process and many clicky people.

Quite Bright
Just like everyone else said, don't be fooled by the pretty campus. There is nothing to do and i have had far more fun spending time at other campuses than here. Th academics are a joke, all the general classes i have taken are twenty times easier than high school and i went to a public school. At this point I am contemplating URI because i feel that the academics would be at the same level there, so why pay more at Salve? It is ridiculous that they require freshmen to attend all of these stupid service fairs and assemblies. This is college- i want to be left alone and it seems like everyday i'm forced to go to something as a requirement of NSS. Also it is impossible to do anything as a freshmen without a car. It is true that parties are nonexistent- but i mean even if i wanted to go bowling or something it is impossible without a large amount of time wasted on the ripta. It takes an hour to get into providence and on the weekends the bus stops at 1230 form prov. and a cab is $100 back. Not worth it. I also called at least 4 cab companies one night in Newport and not one of them answered. Basically, you can try to have a good time but there are so many factors that make it too difficult and you'll end up getting stuck. Don't come here- there is a high transfer rate for a reason.

I am currently a freshman at salve regina and am already looking into transferring. I came on this site to read reviews and am so happy others feel the same way as me. Like others have said, don't let the beautiful campus and surrounding area fool you. The school is full of close minded students who basically all came from private schools and feel so entitled. It is very cliquey. The athletes walk around the school like they own the place. It is hard to make friends if you are not on a sports team.

There is almost no partying. The r.a.'s are VERY strict about drinking in the dorm rooms and since you cannot have loud music after 9pm (quiet hours) dorm parties get busted. If you are into partying, this is probably not the place for you.

The academics are ok. I personally do not feel challenged at all. I feel as if it is an extension of high school, aside from the increase in homework. Most of my teachers just lecture for 50 minutes and present power points. I made the wrong choice.
