BJU was unaccredited when I attended. They stated that was no issue whatsoever. I have had a difficult time getting into grad school and getting a decent job because of this. Now that they have TRACS accreditation, it has made life even more difficult as most orgainizations see that as an automatic NO.

Despite what BJIII said on Lary King live, the school DID activly participate in racial discrimination. Those of us who worked in the admissions office had a litney of verses from the Bible which, according to BJIII and the administration, that African American people are less than white people and that the races should never inter-mingle. It was never a "social" issue as BJIII lied.

Bob Jones University holds its students captive and does not treat them as adults. BJU eschews any dissention and if youy have a perspective, especially a religious perspective that is different from the Administration's perspective, you automatically are wrong, have spiritual problems and very well might be expelled for your oppinion. This school does not prepare the student for the world and workforce. I was in shock and did not know how to act when they pushed me outside the iron gates. Even their own literature states they are there to train people to believe as they do (which is the only right belief according to them.) Their mission is NOT to educate. It is to indoctrinate into their religious IFB mindsset.

Knowledge in the head alone is helpful, but character is the key. A college degree only opens doors of opportunity, but character will keep you in every way.

This school is almost unmatched in its ability to treat legal adults as if they were children who need to be controlled and sheltered. The prejudiced and narrow-minded atmosphere is appalling. Please don't think I am exaggerating. Do not come to this school if you at all value your personal liberty! Also, while the educational quality is in many ways better than commonly reported, DO NOT come here if you are considering a professional career as a musician. Go to a conservatory or music school! Their music program is much WORSE than commonly reported.
