I love what I do, and am very grateful for my teachers and instructors at BJU. I have taught for over 25 years, and count it a privilege to influence young lives to serve the Lord with music.

This school is a great place to learn God's word, but it's easy to forget that there is a world outside the institution. You'll need to use what you learn there to think critically and apply it when you graduate. Don't be caught in the 'blindly followers' crowd...

When I went to Bob Jones University, I had just recently "been saved" as Christians refer to their belief in Jesus. I had never grown up in a Christian environment to be prepared for my encounter at Bob Jones University. I attended high school at Bob Jones Academy before enrolling in the University. I wanted to learn as much about the Bible as I could because I loved God so much. I found that Bob Jones University is a place that preaches its dogma much as any cult would. It is insidious. Rules and regulations which are intended to nurture the spirit rather than the flesh take on a tone of almost scriptural proportions in their enforcement. It is as if the doctrines of the University are the doctrines of the Holy Bible. Dissent is heresy. Individualism, free thinking or questioning are warning signs of trouble. The religious machinery at work is of almost cult-like proportions. If you are even thinking of attending this university, please do not underestimate the impact that it can have on your faith. Although I attribute my professional success to the superb education I recieved during my 6 years of association with the Bob Jones brand, I have simply never recovered the faith I lost after they beat that simple love of Christ right out of me. I can't believe I lost so many years of my life trying to get over the impact that they had on me -- a fact that I don't think would be relevant if I had attended a "normal" school.
