Outside of these two conditions, I think going to universities in the area of the country you will be living/working might be a better choice. I think it took me a good 10 years to get to the point I would have been at had I chosen a more prestigous university, and used the connections gained from it in my job search and career path. Before you graduate you know what techniqes work and which ones do not. I believe a Citadel Grad is ready for any leadership position in any career field because they have four years leadership experience.
