Closed mind students and faculty that hide behindQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
Closed mind students and faculty that hide behind christian values. They talk about values but do not live by them. The college continually looks to blame and find fault versus trying to create an atmosphere of trust. It is a terrible environment. Avoid this school at all costs...They try to lure you in and most students leave after first year...so do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. The support system is brutal and the school is in the middle of nowhere. It is where people go because they cannot work anywhere else.

Question
Erskine is not the place I thought itQuite BrightPsychology
Erskine is not the place I thought it would be. Especially with the chaos that is going on with Synod and the lack of communication between students and administration, I feel like Erskine has been a cult forming around me. I do not participate in any on-campus ministry opportunities because they feel more like people gathering to complain about how unchristian the college is instead of doing something about it. I have been struggling through a major faith crisis since beginning my time at Erskine and I have not seen a single student try to help me. Thank God for the Psychology department or my time at Erskine would have driven me even more insane. I would not chose to go to Erskine if I could do this all over again. In fact, my little sister is a senior in high school and I forbid her of even looking at Erskine as a possibility. Anyway, BY FAR the worst part of Erskine is the lack of communication between students and administration. Professors generally communicate well with us, but Dr. Norman has been terrible at communicating all of the changes that have been happening. Hell, we never even got an email about when move-in day was last year. Maybe if the changes and concerns would be expressed to the students, we would be able to help change for the better. Use the stupid convo time, we are hurting for money it seems, so don't pay anyone, just speak about the hell that Erskine is going through. Explain the views, the concerns and the reasons for firing beloved professors. Do something to be the Christians you claim you are.

Question
Erskine is a great place to go toQuite BrightMusic - Performance
Erskine is a great place to go to college, as long as you don't mind being in a small town. It is small and has high academic standards, so you are pushed to really explore and understand material. The people are incredibly friendly, from the staff to the faculty - your professors truly care about your growth as a person, as much as in your classes. It is a liberal arts college, so people tend to be pretty open-minded. Erskine is a Christian college also, but (with a few exceptions that I think you would find anywhere) people don't try to force their beliefs onto you. Although Due West is an incredibly small town, there are two decent-sized towns within 15-minutes drive, and three large cities within 30-60 minutes drive. Also, because the students like to stay busy, there are always tons of activities going on around campus - planned and sporadic - and we have many societies and organizations that do a great job of trying to plan events. Erskine is small, but it is a great, fun family of people that will push and support you to be your best in everything.
