Wow. I am really enjoying some of the recent posts on this site about FMU. If you've been monitoring this site as much as I have over the past 6 mos. to a year you would notice a trend. People get bad grades, they post on this site and complain about how they got cheated, blah, blah, blah; then they talk about how they are or already have transferred to another school. Then because somebody like myself can spell and practices what I would call correct grammar, they say I must be administration. First of all, it doesn't take a PH.D to learn how to spell or use correct subject/verb agreement. The only problem I have is with FMU not making their acceptance criteria more difficult. I personally have a problem with them allowing some of the ignorant hicks I have noticed on this site into their fine institution. That is all I have to say.

The college (called a university) has a lot of its own graduates as staff and/or faculty. There isn't life in the university over the past four years; it's dull. Those who are creative, excited, and want to progress are restricted. Some of the staff have been there "tooo" long just because of their being able to keep a stable state job. It is too political, back biting, and not a progressive. It's supposed to be in the top 100; I just haven't seen that from where I have observed. The city is trying to be urban yet just doesn't know how! What a waste, sad situation with a D or worse ranking.

Wow! Imagine that! A school with professors that don't make it easy for you. What is the education system coming too. You ask them a question and they direct you to the answer instead of giving it too you. Race cards are greatly overplayed. Everybody is sick of hearing how minorities are at a disadvantage b/c of their skin tone. This is 2008 and not 1958 after all. If you have a problem and are unhappy with the institution then leave. Go to another University. However I seriously doubt you'll fair any better at USC, Clemson, UGA, UNC, NCST, etc. Most colleges/universities if accredited are measured by the same educational/aesthetic standards. I'm no longer a student at FMU. I graduated in 2004 and i'm currently a graduate student in New England studying Conservation biology. I really enjoyed my time at FMU; but the fact of the matter is not everybody is cut out for college. Those of you who've been at FMU for a while and aren't happy with college life at FMU, I encourage you to try another University. You just might find out that it isnt the University that is the problem. If you're a Freshman or a Sophmore and you've only been at FMU for a total of 2-4 semesters then I encourage you to give it another chance. Be patient! Every school has "good" teachers and "bad" teachers. Perhaps you've experienced them all at once. Keep in mind that college is supposed to be different from High School. I think a lot of students have been spoiled by the secondary education system in this country and expect everything handed to them on a silver platter. Everybody wants graphic organizers cause they dont want to "learn" how to take notes. They also want rubrics so they know to focus and give more attention to the more important aspects of projects. College is not like that... THANK GOODNESS!!! Anybody can do well in high school. It actually takes some degree of intelligence to do well in college.
