| Quite Bright | This place is thick with bureaucratic garbage. The faculty voted to remove one of the most used student parking areas on campus recently. Tuition has nearly doubled in less than ten years, and student housing is tolerable at best. The Computer Science and Business departments have changed their graduation requirements at least two or three times in as many years, and I find the Theatre department laughable. To the Computer Science department's credit, they actually do pay attention to the Rights of Catalog rule, something that neither the English nor Business departments did for me. Advisement is a complete joke, but you've got to have it if you want to register. There are no real uniform standards, so the difficulty of a particular course is completely dependant upon the professor. Right now, for instance, I've got to study more for my 100 level History course than my 300 level Mythiology course. The only reason the University is growing at the rate it is happens to be because it's one of two 4-year public universities in the upstate. The other being Clemson, it doesn't take an idiot to figure out how its astronomical growth started happening. | Campus Maintenance: A, Collaboration/Competitive: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | The university uses the business school as a cash cow. It advertises a studnet teacher ratio less than 10 per faculty, but in the busienss school its more like 40 per faculty. | Friendliness: B+, Scholastic Success: F | | | |

| Super Brilliant | Coming here was like a breath of fresh air compared to the last school I attended. The faculty and staff are friendly, really approachable, and very helpful. The social life does feel a bit like high school because it's such a small campus. I can't very well deny that it tends to get a bit cliquish sometimes. However, since you tend to run into the same people over and over again, you normally have multiple chances at getting somewhat involved in any given clique. People sometimes gripe about there being nothing to do in Spartanburg, but there is if you look around a bit. I very much appreciate that when I hear "Academics come first here," I actually believe it. | Individual Value: A+, Scholastic Success: B- | | | |
