I have attended winthrop for one year now and think it is a poorly run university. The president i spending money on building his "center" and not putting money into fixing the buildings which are falling apart. The cafe is horrible and you can barely eat there most of the time, if you do you are hungry again two hours later. i have found some of the staff (not teachers) to be rude and not willing to assist. The over all education you are recieving for your tuition is not worth it. If you are not big on the greek system then regardless be prepared to be hasseled by them. They sit outside of byrnes soliciting money from passing by college students.

People should know before you come to Winthrop that the school sprit isn't very high. The Food here will make you a little long to get used too. Athletes are rude and won't quite talk to the non-athletes. Speaking from the view of an athlete I would definitely join tons of clubs and such, because your not going to find any partying here. There is drinking, but it's drink to get drunk and that's not much fun, and the cops here are very VERY strict. Go here if you can't get into anywhere else, it's a tolerable good school. Academics are really good, but the school doesn't offer much of anything else besides an education. So if your fine with that, it's a good school for you! Last comment Winthrop is not a bad school! It's not a great school, but really look into it and make sure it's for you. I like the school, I didn't love it, and that's why I'm leaving.

I enjoyed my time at Winthrop. The classes are small and are taught by professors. Winthrop is a very nuturing school and I felt that professors were interested in my success. Rock Hill is kinda boring, but Charlotte is close by. There are plenty of house parties on the weekend.
