Positive Negative Neutral Advice
This school is very small and feels aQuite BrightAnthropology
This school is very small and feels a lot like high school. Many of the people are very cliquey but overall people are nice. There are a lot of fake smiles and hellos around campus. The campus is small and not near anything convenient, a car is almost necessary. The campus is also not very visually appealing, especially on the freshman end of campus. The faculty are very helpful and generally intelligent, you just have to be vigilant about which professors you choose. The social aspect is very secluded, you have to know somebody who is having a party in order to go and many people are loner types who like to stay and watch tv. this is the type of school for only a certain type of person, it doesnt welcome many different perspectives.

Question
I did not have many expectations coming intoQuite BrightUndecided
I did not have many expectations coming into this school. However, it has been better than I thought it would.

CONS:
-Super small campus
-Lots of parties on weekends, which make it hard to meet people if you don't party (like me)
-Very cliquey (like high school), another reason it's hard to make friends
-Intramurals are confusing and not easy to be part of
-Most students are from Sioux Falls or some small town in southern MN or SD
-Super old buildings and gross much of the time
-Freshmen and sophomores only have 2 options for housing, and both are dorm buildings.
-Weekends get boring
PROS:
-Professors are very accessible and helpful with schoolwork
-Althought the campus buildings are old, the campus itself is pretty
-Many activities for students are planned, such as movies shown in the Back Alley and lots of dancesIf I could do it over, I would not have chosen Augustana, and I still haven't given up the idea of transferring somewhere else. However, you do become used to the school, so I will most likely stay another year at least. Hope this helps!

Question
Augustana has a great Rec Services program, butAverageEducation
Augustana has a great Rec Services program, but however some of the professors seem incompetent and some seem to not fully be able to explain the material when questions are asked as if all they know is the information they have in front of them. All in all the campus is extremely small, almost to the point where you know everyone on campus. At parties on the weekends you always see about 80% the same people.
