The experience is best if you are social and involved go to class and do your homework and you will be fine the staff is freindly and helpful and the extra curriculars are a great way to make new friends. the residence halls are a great place to live and there is a wide range of diversity on the campus for a small midwestern school.
Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Campus Maintenance: C+

If you are looking for something around this price, go to South Dakota State Univ. DONT COME TO NSU. This school's rep lied to me before I even arrived at the school. I fell for this school because of the price but later I learned that SDSU offers the same price but much better quality and reputation. I got a super good job because of my experiences not my degrees. The school officials will try to push you down no and insult matter how good you are. There's one administrative that I finally cornered her with the Board of Regents' Policy and it was obviously that I was right but she just ignored my email and pretended nothing had happened for the whole semester. I was accepted at VA Tech but I decided to come to SD because I wanted to get away from home. Their career services dept is a joke. All they can do is just reviewing your resume and tell you go use google.com!!! They will try to take your money as much as possible. If you still want to experience super white christmas and be broke most of the time, NSU is your place. Don't expect any scholarships, the best thing you can look at is prolly $200!!! Forget about the public transportation or civilization, you need to have your own car or you die right there. Aberdeen is a nice little town but it's too quiet and dangerous for homosexuals. One good thing about this univ is that all of the professors are super nice and willing to work with you. Just show that you care about their classes then you will rock it. I used to hate Chemistry in high school but I got 100% on my first test and got "B" for the chem class.

Like everything in life, you get out of NSU what you put in. Yes, you can skim through, but if you want, there are many challenging courses and professors who will foster mental and personal growth. This is an excellent English school as well as an Education school.
