I couldn't select a type of major toQuite BrightCivil Engineering
I couldn't select a type of major to put on this review because lipscomb doesn't even offer it, that's the problems. My " counselor " had a meeting with me and my parents about coming here to study a specific major and turns out almost 4 months into the semester they don't have it. This school also just wants your money, they don't car about your education your just another "LU" number to them. Financial aid will try anything to scam you into having to pay more for example: Secret forms you have to fill out, writing thank you letters, one little misspelled word on your fasfa and now you owe thousands of dollars. DEFINITELY transferring for next semester. Parking is absolutely ridiculous and Faculty and the financial aid office are rude. Don't go here guys. no worth it

Lipscomb University smothers its students.BrightComputer Science
Lipscomb University smothers its students. There is no original thought or healthy argument in most classes. The few Professors that go around the crazy Church of Christ policies are gems, and their classes are usually the best.

I transferred here from The King's College in NYC, where students were taught that arguments done in a respectful way are healthy and help them to grow and learn. Lipscomb has an "our way or the highway" mentality, which most students don't care about because they either ignore it or were brought up with similar beliefs.

I went into this school knowing it was Christian-based, but I was not aware of just how closed-minded their curriculum is. For example, in my PR class, we have to choose a CHRISTIAN nonprofit company to represent for our final projects. This was a huge conflict of interest for me because although I am a Christian, I feel that it is good for students to branch out into the secular world and learn how to communicate with all kinds of people with all kinds of thoughts and beliefs.

In short, don't go here. Some professors and classes are phenomenal and helpful, but in the end, it is a waste of money if you want a well-rounded view of the world.

P.S. Their parking is atrocious.

Not once did Lipscomb even bother to apologizeQuite BrightOther
Not once did Lipscomb even bother to apologize for racking up thousands of dollars of debt under my name by signing me up for classes while I was out of state for the summer. None. Not even a simple apology from a "christian" school that preaches morals and values. Thanks Lipscomb do as we say, not as we do, right?

Instead of paying back the money to the appropriate party, Lipscomb decided it was just easier to send me refunds and have ME do their legwork for THEIR mistakes. Mind you, it took nearly 6 months to get paid back, and another 2 months when they did it AGAIN a second time!! The worst part is that I am on the hook for nearly $1400 that they absolutely refuse to refund! My bank statements show that I have not received a single cent of this money and I am being billed for the University's mistakes.I am thankful that I left Lipscomb.
