Horrible experience.AverageBiology
Horrible experience. The place looks like it is closed and they never fix things that are broken. There are four buckets in the student center to catch the water from the rain instead of actually fixing the problems with the roof. The administration does not care at all about the students and acts like we shouldn't have an opinion about anything. The President, Robin Tricoli, is terrible. She wants the students to stay positive and stop complaining, but she never wants to actually address the things we complain about - staff lying to us, things that are broken that won't get fixed, the food that is terrible, no heat in the dorms during the winter, and much more. This place is crazy expensive and they won't do anything about what we want. You would think we aren't the ones paying the bills around here. Advice to everyone reading this - DO NOT go to Hiwassee for any reason - run the other way and go anywhere else.

This college is very different than any other.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
This college is very different than any other. It has uniqueness in itself. The reason for this is the opportunities given. I came from a community college that I struggled at. At Hiwassee I was given more attention by teachers than ever. Thus, the professors gave me the motivation to make better grades. At this point I have one of the highest GPA's in the school. I have made the best grades and previously this was out of reach. At this school you get what you put in. As long as you are involved you will actually accelerate your mental growth here more than a larger university.

I attended HC and absolutely loved it! TheEducation
I attended HC and absolutely loved it! The college has been around for 165 years and has a lot of unique history. I graduated from HC with a BS degree and felt very prepared to go into grad school. I finished my Master's degree in only one year and I am now pursuing my PhD. Additionally, I had a job lined up right after I graduated from HC due to a successful internship that my faculty adviser had arranged. I am still happily employed at that organization. I credit all of that to HC and not only the academic rigor provided there, but also to how encouraging the faculty and staff are. I highly recommend HC! Go Tigers!
