Super Brilliant
This school is not worth anyone's time. In my first semester I was driven to suicide because of the atmosphere there and fortunately survived. It is a damaging environment in many ways, unsafe area of town, buildings falling apart, nothing to do, pitiful library. It is a joke of a university and I don't understand why the government hasn't shut it down. It is simply a disgrace to the American higher education system and makes a joke of it.

Temple has changed a lot since I graduated in 1969. I think for the better. I believe you get a better education and are better taught how to function in a lost world. I made many long-lasting friendships. It wasn't perfect, but none are. The teachers and faculty were strict, but caring. They wanted you to succeed. Some were legalistic, some weren't. You can't put them all in the same box. Dr. Roberson was strict, but I saw the caring side of him also. He helped many students through rough times, and didn't expect anything in return.

Quite Bright
TTU is BY FAR THEE WORST college that I had attended. Dr. Lovett is an asshole and so is the entire staff at TTU. None of the teachers make time for you yet they make you feel so important. The school is just one huge contradiction. There the fakest people that I know. Do not attend this college. Go to Lee University. Temple blows ass. The food is terrible and so are the people.

If you are planning on going on to graduate school you need to KNOW THIS - TTU is NOT "regionally" accredited, although it is nationally accredited. MANY graduate schools require that you have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in order to grant you a grad degree, because this is considered a minimal standard. I was denied entry into several schools for this reason. TTU administrators do not seem serious about obtaining this basic credential. It is irrepsonsible not to inform potential students about this situation. While I did get a Christian worldview centered edcuation, and made contacts that helped launch my career, I probably could have gotten the same or better quality education at say Cedarville College, Liberty University or any of the Southern Baptist Schools, most of which are regionally accredited. A much greater empahasis should be placed on growing and improving academic programs. By the way, the campus is crumbling because it was not given a high enough priority, partly becasue the church and school are joined financially. "Excellence" should also be a part of any "Distictively Christian", as the motto goes, education.
