I'm an older student returning to school after 20 years. ACC has been great for me. Through the Fresh Start program, I'm able to use ACC to earn admission to UT later. The courses at ACC have been a mix of quality. Some good, some only so so. I would suggest using pickaprof.com to research the professors first to find those who are the best teachers in the classes you need to take. Tuition is a bargain compared to UT.

This is a community college, so know before hand many are only here because their parents made them or they don't know what else to do with their lives. Many are not committed to doing well in class. Don't expect to be stimulated by classmates.

The professors have all been extremely friendly and helpful. The class sizes are small enough for you to have plenty of opportunity to interact with them for extra help.

ACC is simply a money saving school. I probably saved my parents + $15,000 just going to ACC for 2 years, and since I'm not a spoiled asshole, I kind of take pride in that. Get an Associate's degree or follow the core curriculum and transfer to whatever university you want. Austin is a great city so it makes up for the lack of social life at ACC. You can get a good education here if it's something you're genuinely after, I doubt there's much of a difference quality-wise from a 4-year school if you're just taking basic courses.

Not so bright
This school is pretty hard......to not sleep at.

Its pretty hard to get into ACC...I consider myself a natural scholar therefore I got "in" if you know what I mean. Otherwise if your not a scholar, you might have a chance of getting accepted if you have a good friend who is the dean or something like that.

I have heard about some people doing odd jobs like getting a job as a janitor, then applying and that works too.

Some of the basic requirements are required such as a brain (that must be in working condition), and .........ummmm...... well thats pretty much it.

great school if you want to have an easy "A" in most your classes, then transfer to a real college.

Not a very socially involved school. You have to search pretty hard to find social activities on campus, but they are out there. Most people go to school and come in the at the last second, and leave as soon as they possibly can to get back to their house and continue what they were doing 45 minutes prior.

Some teachers are nice and real cool/laid back....but on the contrary some teachers are freakin bisnatches if you know what I mean.

Campus is well kept as for Northridge and Cypress creek. On the other hand Rio grande is a shiest hole, and needs to be remodeled with all the tuition I pay, which leads me to my next point...

This school is pretty affordable, but they do try and snatch your money...with tricky bull shnizle that catches you off guard. Anything to get 5 dollars here , 16 dollars there. ACC has some miserly underground network of Jewish ex-Bankers. Okay maybe im exagerating a little.

Good luck finding a Conservative republican teacher, or for that matter a student. Most people at ACC are very liberal left-wing bed wetters. You will see some wierdos around campus, and you'll know what im talking about when you see one, then youll be like "oh yeah thats what the guy on that review site was talking about".
