If you want to be raped by an institution, go to school here. No seriously, when I went to school here, rape on campus could be punished with a "verbal warning". There is no functional career services office. there is no student health organization, only a school nurse. Maintenance does not show up to fix anything ever. There is no functional security at this school, the school PD has no guns, no mace, and no tazers, they can't even write a traffic ticket, and when I went to school here, the state PD was not allowed on campus by the administration. When I went to school here, the dining halls were failing health inspection. Let me repeat, do not go to school here! it will be the worst mistake of your life.

Know that although AC does education fairly well, there is a high cost to this benefit(not in terms of money!). Maintenance will not show up to help you. The cafeteria food gives some people health problems. there are no medical facilities on campus open at night or on the weekend. security will not show up promptly.

The school is pretty good. The only negative thing that ruin everything is the internet connection. Obviously, those people in the IT department don't know what they are doing. On your final week, you need to do research papers, but you can't even browse a website. You can't even stay online for more than 15 minutes either. It has been like this for several years. They ignored all the complainations and suggestions from students. All we got was promises which did no good. You don't want to pay 30 thousands dollar a year for an internet connection that is worse than dial-up. And yes, they make you stay in the dorm until you are 21 too. If you are considering this school, I would say no. Life sucks when you can't even send an email to your friend. Some of you may say that "I dont care about computer and internet, I just need a good education." Then you will have to think again when you stay up until 4am in the morning and still get a C in your paper because you can't access your sources.

It's a so-so ok party school although the fact that there are very few students on this campus means you dont get to meet too many people, although they are definetly diverse. Not many "pretty" people. The town is the worst part of the Austin College experience, its a small town and basically nobody interesting to get to know, so youre confined to the 800 or so students that live on-campus.
