The
Departmental Honors Program is designed to challenge and stimulate the
creative ability of superior students through an emphasis on independent
investigation.
A student who has been performing at an
exceptional level within the department of major and at a
level of distinction in other courses may be invited by the department chair to participate in the Departmental Honors Program. The evaluation of departmental performance is made exclusively by each
department. The evaluation of overall performance outside the department is
confirmed by the Honors Advisory Committee in consultation with the department.
