I have a degree from a big 10 university. I enrolled at Brookhaven as a career change. It was the WORST misstake I could have made. I was in the Allied Health dept. as a radiology major and I can not express the amount of student cheating and teachers pets running rampant in the program. If you are not a cheater or one of the teachers "chosen ones" you will struggle or be flunked out. The so called "teachers" are ALL personal girlfriends of the program director so she always sides with them even when a student presents facts of bias or discrimination to her. I talk to seniors in the class ahead of mine and heard about cheaters in their class and how they "just happen to get" the exact grade they needed in lab to pass on in the program and eventually graduate. The lab grade is how they "weed" out the ones they don't want in the program because they personally judge your performance during testing unlike the scantrons score that they can't tamper with. This allows them to boast that only "the cream of the crop graduates their program" its that hard. I watched good honest people "flunk" out and the cheaters and pets progress thru. I can't stress enough what a bunch of hype and smoke and mirrors this Allied health dept is - even a person that works for the school told me "everyone knows about the cheating in the nursing program" so its not just the Rad dept. I also know theres problems in the paramedic program too. The dept director is best buds with the rad director who's girlfriend with and picked ALL the teachers. Get the picture? NO JUSTICE! I even reported the program to JRCERT and SACS/COC (what a waste of time). So all I can do is post on websites like this one and tell future students to RUN. Find a better school, and ask any tech at a hospital doctors office or imaging center where they went to school and request someone else like I do now!

I've been at Brookhaven sense last year, and let me say, getting a straight answer out of them is like pulling teeth. Their financial aid department is clueless and as helpfull as a rock...Oh! wait, a rock is more usefull. I'm a single dad and need financial assistance, and by the time it's time to buy books or anything else for school, you I paid out of pocket until they finally desided to do what was supposed to be done. I wasn't the only one waiting on this disorganized department. Never had this much trouble in any other schools.

This school is run by a collection of scatterbrained seniors. (And I don't mean seniors as in they graduated from the school, because most of them haven't) The registration process sometimes is so confusing or takes so long that you miss the deadlines. The teachers basically use their classes as an opportunity to complain about how bad life has treated them and how they wish they weren't sucking the bottom of the cesspool of academic careers.
