I've been at CTC for two semesters. Most of the professors seem fairly knowledgeable and helpful. I don't think it's their fault (entirely) that the material being covered is less than challenging. The student body is comprised of a lot of first-time college students and I get the feeling that about 25% of the people there don't really care about getting an education but want to have that piece of paper that will get them a better job. They're going to have a rough time when they see it's more about attitude in the real world.

Parking is pretty bad, they just added a new lot which has helped (I think people are too lazy and don't want to walk a 1/4 mile to class, good thing they aren't at a "real" school that's spread out over 30 miles).

Overall you get what you pay for. I don't recommend online classes, I've only taken one but it was a dreadful experience with little to no help from the instructor. The faculty in class have been much better, I get the feeling most of them would like to expand on their subjects but feel limited by their students' interests and comprehension. It's a little too much like high school where you're babied through it, instead of being handed a syllabus and expected to take care of yourself. Can't beat it for the price though. If the credits weren't guaranteed to transfer elsewhere I wouldn't be here.

I took a certification course with CTC and it was the worse experience I have ever had with a school. I have taken over three years of online education and the instructors assigned in this class did not have a clue how to treat students. They were not available when you needed information, when they got around to answering your questions it seemed like they had scripts that they cut and pasted from, as they gave repetitive answers to everything. They did not know the information they were teaching and when asked where certain information was located in the course material, would only respond with you must review all of the material. They temselves did not know the answers. CTC is all about the money, do yourself a favor and go to another school if you want to be educated....

The campus has good outer upkeep cause the guys are always mowing the lawns and such but the housekeeping in the new nursing and science building can be upgraded cause the women's bathrooms are atrocious by far. Some of the professors here are good if they care about teaching but there are some who spout about not caring either way cause we're all grown-ups...there is great diversity because we're located by post so for us single girls there's lots of single soldiers walking around...especially if you take classes on post which are by far faster (8 weeks) and easier depending on who you have. it's not really competitive...unless you make it for yourself and uphold your own standards...otherwise...just do your best cause some students care about their education more than others...
