| Quite Bright | This school, like life, if filled with a good number of good teachers and a number of rather arrogant teachers. Same can be said of the students. Life is life - and this is no different. It is what you make of it - if you don't ask for help, you dont get any. I found when I asked teachers for help that I recieved it 98% of the time. It is an accellerated program though, so if you arent ready to handle a very complicated course load, you will have a difficult time. Innovation? Well, there really isnt any innovation in the funeral business. I found most of the staff and selected students very helpful. | Surrounding City: A+, University Resource Use: F | | | |

It's important to learn the information taught in the school not only because it will make a huge difference on how you do on the National and State Boards, but also it gives you the basic knowledge needed to begin in funeral service.
I'm more involved with the embalmer side of the business and knowing certain chemicals and their purpose is a huge help when dealing with the different brands you may come across. Also, many people in my class weren't real serious when it came to the cosmetics portion. I'm here to say, that is one of the most important things to learn. If the deceased looks good, younger, or no longer ill and it leaves a positive mental picture for the family, the rest of the services the family may have requested will generally flow more smoothly. It is also one of the reasons why some families keep using a certain funeral home. | Starting Job: Funeral Director/Embalmer, Preparedness: A, Reputation: A+ | | |

Dallas Institute has enjoyed a wonderful reputation for many years and continues to provide the education necessary to be a GOOD Funeral Service Practioner.
I am proud to say that I the second member of my family to graduate from the school, and I would direct anyone who is considering a career in Funeral Service to these kind and caring people.
Sincerely,
Richard Miller
