I enjoyed my time at Messenger College.Religion/Religious
I enjoyed my time at Messenger College. As with any situation, there are rough times; it does not matter where you go or what you are doing. When I first arrived at Messenger College, it did see a little 'stuck'. Once the new administration came in 2001, there was a dramatic turn around. The student services dramatically improved, and a new emphasis was placed on academics and spirituality. It is extremely affordable for a private college OR a state college. The education I received at Messenger College afforded me entrance into a prestigious seminary, and I scored very well on the entrance examinations, as well as performed very well in a graduate class setting. I would thoroughly recommend Messenger College to anyone seeking a family-type environment with personable staff and faculty that care not just about your academic performance, but with your spirituality and development and your future.

Messenger College is surely not for everybody, butBrightReligion/Religious
Messenger College is surely not for everybody, but if you are called of God into full-time ministry or if you desire to be trained for Business Administration in a clearly Christian environment - it is worth checking out. The faculty is extremly approachable and they are dedicated to the development of the whole person - academically/spiritually/emotionally/etc. The small number of students (about 100 or so) allows you to develop deep and lasting relationships. Messenger College is the only college in all of Joplin to not increase its tuition last year and it gained in the number of students. I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself though.

The resources are a joke.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
The resources are a joke. The curfew, yes curfew, is a joke. Except for the English Dept. (which is great), the faculty are loving and supportive but offer little of anything other than the typical old school Sunday morning sermon. The administration has improved since I first began but is still lacking in areas of worth. Would you believe that I was told that I could not drop a class even though I couldn't afford to take the class because I had to work. Yes, I was told that I HAD to take a class (which is understandable if its almost grad time). I HAD to spend money that I didn't have (which is why I was working). I was told that it was a policy that was set out in the handbook even though the Vice President for Academic Affairs couldn't tell or show me which page that was on (because it wasn't in there). If you are looking for an education this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a good social scene this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a real college experience this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a very expensive, post high school, church camp... this is right up your alley.
