Prairie View A&M University gives you an opportunityQuite BrightCivil Engineering
Prairie View A&M University gives you an opportunity to succeed no matter who you are or what you decide to major in. Prairie View may not have the fancy things that larger schools have but all that a student needs to excel is there for them to use. College is about getting what you want to do what you want and Prairie View gives you the tools you need to help you do whatever is that you would like to do with your life. If I could go back I may have considered a different study to major in but I would never turn my back on my university. Prairie View Produces Productive People and we will continue to do so. Go Panthers.

If you are thinking about transferring and youBrightChemical Engineering
If you are thinking about transferring and you currently attend University of Houston - Chemical engineering Department I would transfer and leave ASAP.

Good: The program only focus on the fundamentals and is not as rigorous as UofH. However, this mean't I could take a lot more hours and helped me finish. There is a lot of good research opportunities and if the professor see talent in you they will as you if you want to do research of over the summer. If you work hard at the engineering school you will do extremely well, unlike like UofH chemical engineering program. The graduation rates are also very high most of the student are from UofH (my graduation class was about 80% former UofH students) and the rest where from Prairie View.

Most the professors are also very good, they want to make sure you understand the material instead of making it very hard. Overall it is a good school.

Bad: I just it wish it was a little more difficult and challenging to students. And the discrepancy between a good engineer and a bad one is quite high. The amount of cheating is a problem as well. Engineering Jobs: Ok...this is where Prairie View excels, most of the students that leave this school have better jobs than my friends from UofH!!!!...Major companies come to recruit here (Shell, Exxon, chevron, Baker Hughes..etc). I was just barely making it at UofH. Not only did i graduate but i work for shell.
