I knew that Sam Houston wouldn't be as difficult as Texas A&M (where I got my first undergraduate degree) but the quality of classes surprised me. Most tests were a joke and very few students valued hard work. I was MISERABLE here. Students are NOT competitive. The surrounding town sucks-not a thing to do-very few restaurants. If you can get into school elsewhere GO THERE.
I enjoyed my time at SHSU. It is a great school with a very nice campus. Sure Huntsville is not the most exciting place in the world, but there is always something to do if you know where to look.
Get your degree. Meet and make as many contacts as you can. You will use these throughout your career. You will be suprised down the road how many people you will come in contact with that will have gone to Sam Houston or know someone that has. It will be to your advantage to be familar with the school. Good luck. Pick a career that you love and you will never work a day in your life.
