A beautiful school. Not very far from Houston, The Woodlands, or Conroe. Good classes. Class sizes in many classes are between 15-48 students. A couple of classes have over 100 students. But the majority of classes have a small teacher to student ratio which I like so you feel like you are more than just a face in the crowd. And the teachers get to know your name and if you need help they are avaliable.
Also the school is affordable. Tuition runs about $2,000-$2,500 a semester depwending on how many classes ayou take and any additional fees for labs, etc.

I enjoyed my time at SHSU. It is a great school with a very nice campus. Sure Huntsville is not the most exciting place in the world, but there is always something to do if you know where to look.

Sam Houston State is an excellent college. I feel that my time there was well spent, and anyone looking to work around construction, or energy should look at the Industrial Technology program. Unlike huge universities SHSU has a good professor to student ratio. There is so much to do if you just try to get involved. Intramurals, night life, and students groups are very popular here. If I could go back I would just stay in college at SHSU forever!

Even though Huntsville is small and there isn't much to do, if you like to party a lot then this town and school is the place to be. The school is cool and a vast majority of the people here are very personable and friendly.
