To be completely honest, it was a change of pace making the adjustment to St. Mary's after graduating from a high school that is embedded with extremely accelerated courses and cut-throat competition. However it does provide an excellent foundation for pre-meds and anyone else who may be interested in a science-related field. With all of the opportunities the university has provided to me such as the courses and the very helpful professors, I feel more than decently prepared for the mcat in the future and med school.

St.Mu is a good school overall with a highly rated grad program. I attended both undergrad and grad schools there at St.MU. The undergrad program is more for the traditional student with little flexibilty for those students considered nontraditional. The grad program is just the reverse. I found the undergrad work more challenging than the grad program. Most professors work hard to give you time for one on one help and are of good nature. However, there are some that are down right cruel and will work you to death. Being a nontraditional student I did not get involved in the social programs for students however, it does appear an array of events and activities are available for those staying on campus to have a life. I do here curfew is enforced at the dorms.

St. Mary's has, for the most part, a sincere and dedicated faculty, eager to include students in projects and research. There is at least one outstanding professor in nearly every department. However, there are also some very flaky, inconsistent, generally awful professors. Administration is concerned greatly with public image, but seems to be much less interested in individual student welfare than a Marionist tradition would have you beleive. You will get an education, and be well-prepared for graduate school or career, but with clenched teeth.
