In the College of Business it is rare to have a professor that speaks fluent english. I've only had three professors that spoke english fluently and that didn't have a thick accent. Unfortunately most of my professors can't teach, partly because of the lack of skill in the english language. The real problem is that nobody wants to come teach in Laredo. So, we get "bargain professors" at a "bargain university". What I've come to find out is that most of these professors have at least a master's degree or PHD, and all of a sudden they think they can teach. I have had about three to five good professors in my whole college career at TAMIU. Most of the professors at TAMIU in the College of Business have a "god complex", they fail to take any responsibility when 75 to 80 percent of the students in a senior level course fail an exam. It really is a bad situation when one of your professors reccommends that you get out of TAMIU and got to a "real college".
