Definitely not my college of choice. I'm transferring out after next fall. If you fail a class, you must repeat the course at TAMUK in order for the grade to be replaced which means if you were planning on transferring out you must stay to complete the course in order for your gpa not to suffer. The library has old books and the reference section is definitely out of date. Not to mention, the library smells like an old folks home. I cannot wait to get the hell out of here!!

This campus is really crappy. There's nothing to do in the very small city. Weekends its like a ghost town. facilities are really old.

My experience at TAMUK was one of great disappointment. This is definitely a commuter campus with little to no school spirit. It is tailored for the hispanic student, so please go and spend a few days (it will seem like a year) in Kingsville before deciding to attend. The coursework and curriculum provided by this school are sub-par. Even the professors joke about the difficulty of academics at this university. The services provided by the dormitories and the dormitories themselves are unspeakably bad. The school officials seem more intent on helping themselves than the students. None of the faculty seem to stay at the school for very long, one can only wonder as to why that is... The town is one large slum with little more to offer than a Walmart and Lowes. If you do not speak spanish you will have difficulty conversing with the townfolk and will find that you are at a cultural disadvantage. There is little entertainment in the area and the campus is deserted on the weekends as the majority of students go home during this time. Overall, it is not recommended that you attend this university unless you are looking for a dumbed down and unexciting college experience.

If I had to do it over again I'dve chosen a better college than Texas A&I (Now Texas A&M) in Kingsville. The chemistry being taught is at an advaned high school level, not the usual college level
