TCU is a great place. Don't listen to any of the negative comments.
Yes, Greek Life is prevalent, and there is a cornucopia of rich students, but there is a large number of students who aren't rich and in a fraternity or sorority. If you want to get connected on campus, get involved in a student organization. There are a ton of them. The sports games are always FREE for students. Go early to the football games, or you won't get a good seat.

tcu is a great school as long as you take it for what it is. fort worth is a great city, but it doesnt have the social scene of the bigger places with state universities. its a blessing and a curse. when i went through, i rushed a fraternity, and i can say for sure that if you are not going to go greek at tcu, you should not plan on much of a social life. the campus is overwhelmingly fratty. some of the steriotypes are true about tcu students being kind of arrogant and stuck up, but i have yet to meet anyone who is genuinely unfriendly.

When you are growing up and imagine the college experience, TCU is what you picture. A nice campus that is pedestrian friendly where girls tan on the dorm lawns and guys are playing sports on the grass. It has a great social scene that is fueled by the students, Greek organizations and the surrounding city of Fort Worth. The education is challenging but geared to what you will experience in your career. By going to TCU you are not only investing in your education but also what type of person you are going to be as an adult. My TCU experience has made me more self-confident in not only my academic abilities but also my social and leadership characteristics. My only regret is that I will not be at the school in 5 years when the new dorms, a new student center, the addition to the football stadium, the new education building, the new bookstore and the other new buildings are completed.
