I LOVE TLU. Being a commuter makes it a little harder getting to know people but everyone is really nice and helpful. Everyone notices if you miss class and people will check on you to see if you're okay. Also it's nice being able to go over homework with the professors. The school is very supportive of the Study Abroad program which gets you to travel around the world and study something of your interest. Yes, the school is expensive but DON'T worry about money. They get you as much financial aid as possible.

Because I brought in a lot of AP work, and took Acct I & II in summer school prior, I basically started off as a defacto sophomore and able to get into the upper division business courses right away. I was horrified at how dismal the classes were. It was either make-work, or memorize & regurgitate...not challenging at all. I guess I was lucky that UT accepted everything and transferred me in as a junior. I am much more happier now that I am going to a "real" college.

I left TLU after a year. The history program is basically non-existant. They had a few good instructors, but for the most part trying to major in history at TLU is impossible. I found them lacking in the number of quality courses and cut my losses early. I saw the 2-year projection for history and it was dismal. I transferred to UT/Austin and was happy happy happy. I am now in the masters program at UT and I know that if I had stayed at TLU, I would not have been prepared to study any serious history at a serious level. They need more men who have American history backgrounds, and not a bunch of wishy-washy women teaching irrelevant courses.

I left TL-Who...what a waste of my time. The business department was made up of a bunch of old farts that were way out of touch...except for the suck-up law prof...and she didn't know diddly. I had one good business prof...the history chick was way beyond description...GEC stuff was okay...and I liked the IS stuff eventhough they are about 10 years behind in technology.
