The building is run down. Offices are small and dark; most have no windows.
Committee members are difficult to actually get meaningful meetings with i.e. rather than actuallygetting critique on something you get a vague "looks great, see you later bye" Except for the faculty involved with petroleum, there is no interest or support for students who do not go into academia. If you don't follow in their footsteps, they have no interest in helping you. There is a definite attitude that if you aren't going into academia, you are selling out. Don't go to TTU if you want a real job. | | Feb 25 2011 | Geography and Geosciences

| | | I just completed my undergrad at Tech and am now in a grad program here! I love tech and have received an awesome education! Most people assume Tech kids didn't get into UT or A&M which is totally false. I find the vast majority of students here did get into both schools and CHOSE to attend Tech. A&M is like a conservative cult, UT is EXTREMELY liberal, and most people choose Tech because it's a pretty good medium for Texas schools. Lubbock is growing like crazy! A lot of students who have graduated don't even recogonize it year to year with all of the expansion going on. Lubbock is a diamond in the rough! It's an awesome city with soooooooooooo many fun things to do!!! Tech also has a million organizations to get involved in! I have loved my time here at Tech and know I made the right choice in coming here! Go Red Raiders and Wreck Em' Tech! :) | | Sep 09 2010 | Psychology | | |

I am in the SASW department at Tech for Social Work, I got my undergrad degree at FSU in Tallahassee, and decided to come to Tech over a few other schools because it has everything I want in terms of academics and campus life. Another big plus for me is the weather, I was sick of hot humid florida, and I'm from the north (Illinois) and Lubbock is perfect, you get a full four seasons and you are never too uncomfortable. I love Tech, I have had many opportunities to work on projects with other departments and students, and I get lots of interaction in the community. The only downside is it is kind of far from the next biggest city, 4 hours or so from Dallas, but its near Amarillo and also New Mexico, and there is plenty to do in town. Come here if you are serious about having a good time and learning a lot. The school offers EVERYTHING you could want, good sports, good local food, and a real college town atmosphere. | | Apr 08 2010 | Social Work

| | | The Grad schools at Texas Tech are quickly becoming top notch in the nation. I know the finance program I got in to was extremely competitive and has done wonders for me thus far. | | Feb 14 2010 | Finance | | |

| | | I don't have much to say, but on campus bus system is pretty nice. Interlibrary loan works quickly. I do wish that they would have better control on game days! | | Dec 15 2007 | Geography and Geosciences | | |

| | | The school has notched up the program considerably since I was there. I got a very good education there, but students now in the pipeline are excellent. | | Aug 30 2002 | Other | | |
