T
EXAS Tech, founded in 1923, is a public, comprehensive university.  Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Architecture, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, and Human Sciences.  Its 1,839-acre campus is located in Lubbock.

Texas Tech University recently announced its Red Raider Guarantee program to offer four years of free tuition and fees to students whose families earn less than $40,000 per year. In addition, the university's Graduate on Time program guarantees a student can take all classes necessary to graduate in the least time possible, saving money and entering the workforce sooner.  These programs reflect our philosophy that a student's best interests come first at Texas Tech.  This philosophy is also behind our emphasis on students learning about wellness concepts, financial responsibility, and success skills for life after college.  The Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery in the College of Human Sciences has developed and is distributing the nation's first curriculum to establish recovery communities on college campuses. Texas Tech's recovery community is the largest and one of the oldest of its kind in the nation, serving nearly 100 students recovering from alcohol and other chemical addictions; only seven percent of active participants suffer relapses. The national percentage is closer to 50 percent.
