Humanities and Fine Arts, Natural Science and Mathematics, Optometry, Pharmacy,
Social Sciences, and Technology; the Graduate School of Social Work;
the Cullen College of Engineering; the Hilton College of Hotel
and Restaurant Management; and the Bates College of Law. Its
550-acre campus is located in a residential area, three miles from downtown Houston. The University of Houston is a national
urban research university. In addition to providing full and part-time
academic programs for 34,334 students, UH is also a nationally
